FIELD: fire-fighting technique. SUBSTANCE: the offered method includes burning of solid-fuel composition and supply of gas mixture to hot surface in cold state. Cooling is carried out in two stages. At the first stage, mixture is subjected to preliminary cooling to temperature below temperature of thermal decomposition of liquid found in storage tank and supplied from below upward. The device for embodiment of the offered method has generator with chamber for burning of solid fuel composition and means for preliminary cooling of gas-aerosol mixture made in form of, for instance, vessels with heat lock located on the path of mixture flow. Generator is connected with storage tank by pipeline whose inlet is located in lower part of storage tank and provided with nozzle. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 2 dwg
