FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; may be used in iron smelting in blast furnaces with use of additional fuel in form of specially prepared liquid fuel. SUBSTANCE: liquid fuel is prepared from carbon-containing material having, at least, 45% of free carbon and content of liquid is maintained within 30-70% in the fuel, including 10% of water. Liquid is used in form of water or its mixtures with hydrocarbon products or industrial sewage water contaminated with hydrocarbons. Carbon-containing material is used in form of various coals, industrial wastes of plastic materials and other carbon-containing substances. prepared liquid fuel is blown in blast-furnace hearth with additional supply of oxygen to enrich the blast, and/or blowing of oxygen into air lances together with liquid fuel in the amount of 0.7-2.2 cu.m per kilogram of water in liquid fuel. In blowing-in of liquid fuel, blast temperature is to be increased by 4-5 C per kilogram of water entering the furnace together with fuel, as calculated per ton of iron. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 5 cl
