FIELD: analytical chemistry, more particularly determination of microamounts of iridium. SUBSTANCE: selected samples are opened and treated to obtain catalytically active iridium solution. Opened sample is treated with mixture containing 0.5-0.7 ml of concentrated sulfuric acid, 2.0-2.5 ml of concentrated nitric acid and 0.5-0.7 ml of 2•10-2 potassium periodate solution at 92-98 C.
