FIELD: instruments. SUBSTANCE: method involves emission of different acoustic signals and electromagnetic signal from two distant points towards object, reception of these signals by object, detection of distance from said points to this object and calculation of coordinates of searched object. Method involves emission of harmonic signal which amplitude is modulated by set of harmonic low-frequency oscillations. Distance from emission points to object is calculated using phase shift between corresponding harmonic constituents of emitted signals. Lowermost frequency of modulation set is used for calculation of initial estimation which is corrected using high-frequency constituents. EFFECT: increased precision. 4 dwg
