FIELD: servicing nuclear power plants; decontaminating parts of RMBK 1000 and RMBK 1500 reactors during their repairs. SUBSTANCE: electromechanical decontamination plant has bath filled with electrolyte, cathode placed under electrolyte surface, and casing connected into anode circuit. Cathode is built up of two tubes placed around casing on two sides (internal and external ones). Tubes carry casing centering devices. Cathode has bottom end support passing current lead to casing; plant is provided with high-pressure washing-water feeder in the form of annular header placed above water surface and arranged coaxially to casing and to casing-facing radial injectors attached to header.
