FIELD: physics, nuclear.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to decontamination of metal surfaces which have radioactive deposits, for example nuclear reactor components. The ultrasonic device for decontaminating metal parts has an electrolytic bath. Under the electrolyte mirror there is a component which is contaminated with radioactive deposits connected to the anode circuit, inner and outer cathodes and a current lead to the component. The bath has a removable lid on which the inner cylindrical cathode is attached, as well as a resonator which is coaxial to the cylindrical cathode. The outer cylindrical cathode is attached by its butt-end to the bottom of the bath through an insulator. Ultrasonic radiators are rigidly attached to the housing of the bath and the resonator.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and quality of decontamination, improved operational properties.
