FIELD: thermal engineering. SUBSTANCE: operating process includes isobaric admission of working medium to cylinder working volume, interruption of its admission by means of valve timing gear, adiabatic expansion of working medium during piston stroke to bottom dead center, adiabatic compression of working medium during piston stroke from bottom dead center to interruption position and further processing according to known thermodynamic cycle. Piston position at the moment of admission process interruption is chosen between definite desired position and bottom dead center. EFFECT: improved thermodynamic efficiency of four-stroke internal-combustion engine. 3 dwg
