FIELD: manufacture of car and aircraft engines. SUBSTANCE: engine body is made in form of cylindrical flat split box on whose outer surface compartments are mounted along two mutuallyperpendicular diametral axes in parallel with generatrix. Compartments containing six cylinders each are mounted on two opposite sides of engine body. Pistons of compartments are in similar cycle simultaneously. Compartments with cylinders whose pistons are in opposite cycle are located on two opposite sides of body over two other mutually perpendicular axes shifted at angle of 45 deg relative to first ones. Cylinders of one compartment have one common combustion chamber located above cylinders of compartment; rods of all pistons are articulated to pistons at one side; at other side, rods of all cylinders of one compartment are connected by means of bar articulated in holes of respective arms of double-arm levers movably secured on inner cylindrical surface of body. Second arm of each lever is connected with bar of cylinder rods of adjacent compartment. Each section of bar between cylinder rods is provided with rollers engageable with races of four-cam rotor, for example rigidly secured on engine shaft. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 cl, 2 dwg
