FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: in process of combustion and expansion, gases make pistons 3 move translationally. Translational movement of pistons is taken by transfer mechanism including spherical bodies (balls) 4 arranged in hemispherical sockets made on piston surface. Ball which are in engagement with slots made in cylinder, roll over curvilinear endless profiles of slots, thus converting translation movement into rotary movement which is conveyed from balls to pistons. Rotary is conveyed to gears 13 by means of splined bushings 5 mounted on pistons and by splined shafts 6 engaged with splined bushings and which gears 13 are installed. Gears 13 rotate output shaft 11 through gears 12. Splined shafts remain stationary in longitudinal direction, and pistons can move along these shafts. Output shaft and gears play part of piston synchronizing mechanism. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 3 dwg
