LAWN FORMING METHOD Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: formation of lawn in sports ground construction, landscaping and environment restoration. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing soil mixture; laying soil mixture on preliminarily prepared ground; holding soil mixture under fallowing; applying fertilizers; weeding; preparing seed mixture; sowing and holding it till herbage is obtained; transporting ready sod covering to area where lawn is supposed to be laid out. Ground or base ground onto which soil mixture is to be laid is preliminarily covered with water-permeable film. Sod covering with herbage grown on it is transported together with water-permeable film to area supposed for lawn laying out and laid onto uniformly distributed and compacted layer of clay or loamy soil. Ground or ground base are provided with slope for discharge of thaw, storm and other waters. Prior to transportation of sod covering to lawn area, sod covering is covered with coniferous wood dust or other material with high moisture capacity to preserve herbage.
