FIELD: automation and computer engineering, medical devices, remote control systems. SUBSTANCE: method involves generation of reference pulse sequence, filling time intervals to be converted with this sequence, counting pulses which fit into this interval, setting criteria for assessment of sequence, analysis of results of counting using this criteria, identification of absence of input sequence using results of analysis, providing input sequence for each signal, storage counting results and setting initial code for counting operation, detection of moment when signal of input sequence is received, counting number of input time intervals. Corresponding device has counter, input and output lines. Output of controlled n-phase pulse generator of reference sequence is connected to output line through serial circuit of first NAND gate, first counter, port. In addition output of reference sequence pulse generator is connected to control input of port through parallel connection of D flip-flop, adaptive leading edge pulse generator, second NAND gate. Input line is connected to D input and counting input of D flip-flop and to reset inputs of first counter and flip-flop through parallel connection of leading edge pulse generator and trailing edge pulse generator. In addition output of first counter is connected through first comparator to another input of second NAND gate. Programming line K is connected to first and second comparator. Control input of generator is connected to second output of flip-flop. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities. 2 cl, 2 dwg
