FIELD: time interval metering in automatic control, telemechanics, computer engineering, and telemetering systems. SUBSTANCE: method involves counting standard- train pulses within analyzed time interval and correcting count data according to results of analyzing standard train phases at beginning and end of interval under measurement. Novelty is that end-of-counting criterion is determined and conversion conditions are set before starting conversion. For counting, pulse train transmitted is brought in phase with conversion initiation. Upon arrival of signal which is in phase ((π,2π)) with standard train, phase modulation of the latter is gated relative to phase moment π and read-out signal generation is disabled. Next pulse of standard train is brought in phase with origin of next input signal. Counting result is corrected when input signal is in phase ((π,2π)) with standard train. When end-of-counting criterion is determined, pulse counting is disabled. Upon arrival of input signal, sync signal is generated for next processing of digital code at moment of standard-train first phase π. EFFECT: provision for programmable conversion from first input signal or from every preceding one to next signal. 2 cl, 5 dwg
