FIELD: chemical industry, gas and petroleum industry, petrochemical industry; fuel power engineering. SUBSTANCE: method is carried out by irradiation of gaseous alkanes, the process takes place by electron irradiation having power 0.3-6 MeV, density of current in electron beam being 5-7 mA/MeV cm. Processing is carried out in closed contour cyclically at pressure being dependent upon energy of electrons and being within 1-4.6 at/MeV range. Rate of stream of reaction mixture in said contour is determined upon power of electron stream and is set higher than 4 g/kWt s. After irradiation of reaction mixture its separation takes place, during said separation condensed products are removed and hydrogen is extracted. Then reaction mixture (which is free from excess of hydrogen and from condensed products) is mixed with fresh raw materials to constant pressure and is returned in zone of action of electron beam. Content of hydrogen in reaction mixture is to be not higher than 5 weight %, said condensed products represent mixture of saturated hydrocarbons from hexane to pentadecane. EFFECT: improved efficiency of the method. 4 cl, 3 cl
