FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of processing gaseous alkanes by exposing a crude mixture containing said alkanes to ionising radiation to obtain radiolysis products, during which hydrogen and a condensed fraction, which is the end product, are constantly removed form the radiolysis products, and the remaining part is mixed with the starting mixture containing alkanes to obtain a crude mixture, characterised by that exposure to ionising radiation is carried out at temperature of the reaction which is not lower than the minimum condensation temperature of lower alcohols and ethers and not higher than 350°C.
EFFECT: using the present method enables to use artificial as well as natural multi-component mixtures of hydrocarbons with natural impurities, widens the range of end products owing to possibility of obtaining quality diesel fuel, propane-butane, butane-pentane, isobutane, isopentane mixtures, mixtures of especially valuable branched liquid alkanes and benzines with a suitable fractional composition, preventing coking and formation of organic deposits on walls of reaction equipment.
