FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: silencer has housing 1 of round cross-section wherein diffusers 2 and 3 with inlet branch pipes 4 are mounted. Common resonator chamber 5, contractions 6 and 7, and common exhaust branch pipe 8 are arranged in series downstream of the diffusers. The cross-sections of the spaces of diffusers 2 and 3 and contractions 6 and 7 are rectangular and the spaces are separated with perforated baffles arranged along lines converging diffusers 2 and 3 and contractions 6 and 7, respectively. Two inlet branch pipes go into two diffusers 2 and 3 of rectangular cross- section and interconnected at exit 11. Between the outer surface of diffusers 2 and 3 and housing of silencer 1 is space 12 with slot spaces 13 at the exits of diffusers 2 and 3 connected with common resonator chamber 13. The inlet edges of contractions 6 and 7 tightly abut against the walls of the housing of silencer 1. The outer sides of contractions 6 and 7 define a space together with the housing of silencer 1. The space is in communication with the outlet branch pipe through a slot space at the exits of contractions 6 and 7. Contractions 6 and 7 have a common wall. EFFECT: improved silencing. 4 dwg
