FIELD: engine manufacture; transport facility operation. SUBSTANCE: prestarting heater has combustion chamber with nozzles and air inlet holes, as well as heat exchanger. Chamber is provided with precombustion chamber and common external body. Electric heating element is positioned in air space around precombustion chamber. Branch pipe of air supply to common air space is located on body between combustion chamber and precombustion chamber. Nozzles are arranged in front diffusion section of combustion chamber. They are made chordal and oriented spatially to flow at angle of 45 deg. to heater axis. Stabilizer is installed in output cross-section of precombustion chamber at input of combustion chamber. EFFECT: prompt and reliable starter of heater and engine itself, reduced content of detrimental substances in exhaust gases. 3 cl, 2 dwg
