FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has frame with horizontal forks, guiding frame, feeding mechanism, carriage with working tool drive mechanism made in the form of knife composed of two parts, rod, extension sleeve, supporting plate with roller bearing, receptacle and flange, and stop ring. Cutting parts of knife are connected one with the other for relative motion along their longitudinal axis by rod rigidly fixed on face platform of carriage. Rod is provided with two U-shaped or V-shaped guides embracing projections of respective sections of knife cutting parts for retaining them from disintegration. Eccentrics are seated onto extension sleeve mounted in roller bearing, which is placed in supporting plate receptacle and abuts against flange. Sleeve is fixed against axial displacement by stop ring. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 2 cl, 9 dwg
