FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has frame with horizontal forks, guiding frame and movable vertical knife with two carrier plates and detachable cutting members formed as truncated four-sided pyramids inserted into receptacles formed in carrier plates. Receptacles formed in one plate are positioned in offset relation with respect to receptacles formed in other plate and overlap knife cutting blades. Faces of adjacent cutting members are alternatively oriented in opposite directions. Cutting members with dulled cutting edges may be withdrawn from receptacles and repositioned with their sharp cutting edges into receptacles. EFFECT: simplified construction, enhanced reliability in operation and prolonged service life. 5 dwg
