FIELD: polymer production. SUBSTANCE: plasma and monomer gas streams are introduced with supersonic velocities into reactor connected with low-pressure source through supersonic nozzles of plasmotron and monomer gas admission device, respectively. The streams are directed toward each other in reactor space to form, on their encounter, shock waves activating particles taking part in polymerization reaction: ions, radicals and so on. Plasma is produced in plasmotron from monomer and inert gas mixture. Additionally, introduction of various chemical additives into polymerization reaction zone is possible, which modify physico-chemical properties of polymer produced. Polymer formation is carried out in reactor space both with or without substrates. Polymer is deposited on plates disposed in reactors. Plasmotron outlet section is made in the form of supersonic nozzles oriented, in respect to supersonic nozzles of monomer gas admission device in reactor, in such a way as to provide formation of opposite direction of moving media in reactor space. Plasmotron has mixer to which monomer gas inlet pipe is connected. Inert gas inlet pipe is also connected to this mixer. Reactor has at least one admission device for chemical modifier. Surfaces of polymer deposition plates are oriented toward stream resulting from encounter of streams introduced into reactor and/or are parallel to axis of plasma stream before zone of encountering streams' interaction. At least a part of polymer deposition plates are made from metal and have means to be connected to power source.
