FIELD: catalyst production. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aluminosilicate catalysts. In a method including preparing starting mixture, granulation, drying of granules and gradual intermittent calcination involving isothermal hold at each temperature, according to invention, gradual calcination mode includes at least two calcination cycles involving raising temperature and final calcination cycle involving lowering temperature. In the first cycle, temperature is raised from room temperature to the one at which contraction processes in calcined material are observed with subsequent isothermal hold at reached temperature. In the last calcination cycle with raising temperature, the latter is raised from previously reached level to the maximum calcination temperature, which is below temperature at which active component of catalyst is destroyed. Temperature is raised with a rate limited by allowable internal stresses arising as the result of bulk processes in catalyst material. After isothermally exposing catalyst to maximum temperature, temperature is lowered to its final value with rate limited by allowable thermal stress in catalyst granules resulting in microcracks.
