FIELD: catalysts for organic syntheses. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to improved method of producing aniline via hydrogenation of nitrobenzene which may be applied in dye production and also in petrochemical industry for hydrogenating nitro compounds into primary amines used in caprolactam production. Distinguishing feature of method is that catalyst is prepared by mixing aluminum hydroxide with active mass in presence of nitric acid with acid modulus Mk = 0.015-0.1 and water followed by extrusion, drying, and calcination, active mass being prepared through joint calcination of active component salts at 500- 550 C.
