FIELD: catalysts for organic syntheses. SUBSTANCE: preparation of microspherical catalyst for oxidative chlorination of hydrocarbons includes preparing aluminum hydroxide by precipitating it from sodium aluminate solution with hydrochloric or nitric acid and adding metal chlorides, which is distinguished by that aluminum hydroxide is precipitated at pH 9.0-10.5 and temperature 20-75 C, washed until residual sodium oxide content below 4.5% is attained, mixed with cupric chloride, or with cupric chloride-magnesium chloride mixture, or with cupric chloride-sodium chloride-magnesium chloride mixture. Resultant suspension is spray-dried at drier outlet gas temperature 130 to 200 C and then calcined at 250-350 C for 2-3 h. EFFECT: essentially simplified preparation procedure and achieved uniform distribution of active components in catalyst particles. 1 tbl
