FIELD: mechanical engineering for chemical, food processing, building and other industries; can be used in vortex mills. SUBSTANCE: method involves introducing energy carrier jet into cylindrical milling chamber, creating sound or ultrasound oscillation zones, which are directed laterally to the rotating flow and in which second harmonic oscillations of the fundamental frequency are amplified by additional resonance oscillations, charging and grinding initial material and discharging produced powder. The device comprises cylindrical milling chamber with nozzle oriented along its inner surface and spaces oriented in the same direction. Each of the first spaces is associated with smaller second space inclined in relation of the first one. The device has also loading appliance and outlet opening for discharging powder and energy carrier.
