FIELD: petroleum processing industry; donor thermal cracking of heavy residual petroleum feedstock. SUBSTANCE: method resides in mixing petroleum feedstock with hydrogen donor constituted by gas oil fraction, followed by heating resulting mixture, cracking and separating products into fractions. Inventive novelty of method resides in fact that, as said hydrogen donor, method employs mixture of catalytic gas oil with aromatic $$$ hydrocarbons concentrate or with hydraulically refined Diesel oil, said components being taken in following weight ratio, wt.-%: catalytic gas oil, 50-90; aromatic $$$ hydrocarbons concentrate or hydraulically refined diesel fuel, 10-50. According to second alternative, method employs, as hydrogen donor, mixture of gas oil fraction resulting from thermal cracking of distillate feedstock with aromatic $$$ hydrocarbons concentrate or with hydraulically refined diesel fuel, components are taken in the following ratio, wt.-%: gas oil fraction resulting from thermal cracking of distillate feedstock, 50-80; aromatic $$$ hydrocarbons feedstock or hydraulically refined diesel fuel, 20-50. According to third alternative, method employs, as hydrogen donor, mixture of hydraulically refined diesel fuel and aromatic $$$ hydrocarbons concentrate, components are taken in following ratio, wt.-%: hydraulically refined diesel fuel, 50-80; aromatic $$$ hydrocarbons concentrate, 20-50. According to all three alternatives, hydrogen donor content in mixture with feedstock material is equal to 9-25 wt.-%.
