FIELD: petroleum processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing heavy petroleum residues into fuel distillates via thermal hydrocracking involving donor-solvent processes. Process comprises mixing residual petroleum stock with liquid aromatized additive, which is not conventional expensive shale oil with boiling range 200-400°C, but inexpensive oil selective purification extract containing at least 8% atomic hydrogen, which additive is employed in amount 10 to 50% based on the weight of stock. Preferably, thermal cracking process is carried out under hydrogen pressure 5.0-15.0 MPa at temperature 360-450°C and stock supply flow rate 0.5 to 5.0 h-1 by volume. Liquid aromatized additive may be supplemented by 0.001-1.0% of nickel catalyst.
EFFECT: increased economical efficiency of the process due to employment of inexpensive liquid aromatized additive.
