FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy, production of aluminium by electrolysis of melted salts. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for assembly of cathode devices of aluminium electrolyzer. Lower part of voids-pits of intermediate layer of red brick located between layers of refractory and heat insulation materials from their base to height equal to 0.05-0.25 thickness of intermediate layer is filled with boric anhydride or boric acid and upper part to upper level of void-pits having height equal to 0.75-0.95 thickness of intermediate layer - with powdery diatomite or chamotte. Void-pits in intermediate layer are formed by through slits in red brick situated vertically in layer. EFFECT: improved reliability of lining. 1 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
