FIELD: recovery of low-caloric gaseous mixtures and decontamination of combustible gaseous and liquid industrial wastes. SUBSTANCE: gaseous and vapor mixtures are burnt in deverging flow by filtration of mixture being burnt through inert porous fill. To obtain diverging flow, porous fill is formed as truncated cone. Mixture to be burnt is fed to this fill on side of laser base of cone; height of porous fill, $$$ is height of stabilization of wave of burning in fill; G is flow rate of mixture being burnt; $$$ is rate of filtration of mixture being burnt at which wave of burning is stabilized; $$$ is cone opening angle; $$$ radius of lesser base of cone. Under such conditions, wave of burning initiated in porous fill is self-stabilized and is kept within its boundaries. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 2 dwg, 1 tbl
