HIGH-VOLTAGE TIP FOR SPARK PLUG OF INTERNAL-COMBUSTION ENGINE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

Abstract RU 2100886 C1

FIELD: ignition systems of internal-combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: high-voltage tip has body built up of external and internal insulators 1 and 2, respectively, electrode 6 fitted in central hole 5 and provided with two terminals 7 and 8. External insulator is mounted concentrically to internal insulator 2 in vicinity of electrode 6 with guaranteed clearance 18 of definite value. Clearance 18 is filled, for example, with epoxy compound and joins both insulators into integral body that has three insulating layers near central electrode. When clearance is filled with adhesive material having current-conducting inclusions, this layer may function as screen. EFFECT: improved reliability of spark plug. 7 cl, 2 dwg
