FIELD: electrical equipment of vehicles. SUBSTANCE: spark plug has body 1 accommodating insulator 2 with central electrode 3 and annular electrodes 4 arranged concentrically to each other. All electrodes form capacitor plates. Annular electrodes 4 are fixed in insulator 2 whose material functions as insulation between capacitor plates. Insulation between side cylindrical electrode 5 and its closet annular electrode 4 is of double-layer type. One layer is made of insulator material and other one, of different material (such as in the form of air gap). With spark plug connected to power supply whose voltage is higher than breakdown value, nonuniform electric intensity is built up between electrodes 3 and 5 and annular electrode 4 due to capacitor values. EFFECT: facilitated breakdown of gaps following the one with low electric field intensity. 4 cl, 3 dwg
