FIELD: agriculture, in particular, growing of seedlings in home conditions. SUBSTANCE: portable seedling growing apparatus has tray mounted on base 2 and rigid transparent hood with rotary gates allowing microclimate to be created around seedlings. Seedlings are later transplanted into cups 3 with openings for pushing seedlings out through movable bottom and cups 3 with seedlings are put under hood instead of removed tray to create amiable growing conditions. Development of plants is visually controlled and, when necessary, excessive water delivered during watering is removed from base 2 through threaded plug. Apparatus allows seedlings to be grown for one year under home conditions. Removable casing walls may be attached to base 2 for transportation of seedlings. EFFECT: increased efficiency by improved protection of plants from adverse outer environment and mechanical injure and enhanced reliability in operation. 2 cl, 7 dwg
