FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing patient as if it were standard electroencephalographic examination. Standard electroencephalographic equipment is used as electroencephalographic signal transducers, electroencephalographic amplifier and stimulator. Electroencephalographic signals transformation into digital form, digital signal processing and stimulator operation control are performed with hard- and software means based on IBM PC-compatible computer and microprocessor module for digital signal processing that is attached through one of unoccupied slots of the computer as coprocessor circuit. Module interface for communicating with external devices has 32 input lines for inputting analog electroencephalographic signal and four equivalent output lines for controlling stimulator units operation. Electroencephalographic signal is supplied to input lines of digital signal processing device interface unit from electroencephalograph preamplifiers output through connection cable. Interface output lines are connected to jacks for triggering stimulators from outside. After running trigger stimulation mode control program from the computer, the device is ready to operate. Signal and control information exchange between digital signal processing module and personal computer is carried out through system interface of personal computer. Electroencephalographic signal and current parameters of trigger stimulation display on the screen in process of examination. Accessing trigger stimulation parameter modification channel is carried out with mouse unit and special keys. EFFECT: stable change of functional state of the brain. 3 cl, 9 dwg
