FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, particular, alloying of steel in uphill casting. SUBSTANCE: alloying materials are started to be introduced into foundation after filling of ingot mold for 50-90% of ingot height, and introduction is ended at the end of casting simultaneously with beginning of pouring of the last portion of metal equalling 50-180 wt.%, of metal in foundation channels upon completion of casting. In this case, prior to starting of introduction of low-melting members, added into ingot mold is heat-insulating material with heat conduction of not more than 0.20 kcal./m.h.deg in the amount ensuring thickness of layer of, at least, 10 mm on metal surface in ingot mold. EFFECT: provision of uniform distribution of introduced low-melting members and meeting the ecological requirements in metallurgical conversion of metal. 1 tbl
