VEHICLE SEAT BELT LOCK Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: automotive industry, automobile accessories. SUBSTANCE: seat belt lock has two interchangeable parts, detachable and receiving ones. Detachable part is made in form of tongue with eye for strap and hole on fitted in end. Receiving part has U-shaped holder enclosed in protective housing and connected with tie-rod for fixing the lock in body, П-shaped latch 2 mounted in holder with tooth for engagement with hole in tongue and hole made in holder base, spring-loaded latch closed position interlock member and spring-loaded tongue pusher. It has also release push button. Additional stop for engagement with face portion of latch at extreme loads on lock is made in front part of holder. End sections of latch sides are made in form of lugs bent symmetrically through 50-80 degrees and freely fitted in slots made in side walls of holder tail piece. Additional stop is made in form of two front sections of side walls of holder symmetrically bent off at right angle. Angles of side wall bending relative to holder base are provided with semiround grooves flush relative to plane of base. Passage limited by side walls and base of holder and longitudinal projections on front bent off sections of holder is equal in size to cross section of fitted in end of tongue, including required clearances.
