FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: N(D)-ribityl-3,4-xylidine is synthesized by reductive condensation of equimolar amount of D-ribose with derivatives of 3,4-dimethylbenzene of the general formula: B2 where R - under pressure in the presence of catalyst. Process is carried out at continuous regime using stationary catalyst based on metals of the VIII group of Periodic system of elements. The parent compounds were fed by autonomic parallel flows to reaction zone at constant hydrogen bubbling. The synthesized compound is used for synthesis of vitamin -NH2,-NO2.
