FIELD: cleaning means. SUBSTANCE: metal objects are cleaned and preserved by alkaline solution containing (in g/l): detergent, 5-2; tripolyphosphate, 2-5; and di(2-benzthiazolyl)disulfide, 0.7-1.0; followed by passivation in solution containing tripolyphosphate, 5-10; and di(2-benzthiazolyl)disulfide, 1-2; the two procedures being conducted with ultrasound assistance at temperature not exceeding 45- 60 C for 1-4 min, after which objects are washed with water for 40-60 s and dried. Apparatus contains process bathes with perforated drums and drum drives. Each drum has worm, main spiral tray located on discharge side and secondary spiral tray rigidly fastened to the bath wall near the end open wall of drum on the charge side. End wall of drum on discharge side is connected with mobile spiral tray and bushing that simultaneously serves as drum mouth and drive shaft. Second end of bushing enters cavity of secondary spiral tray. Into the drum from the charge side, pipeline is inserted to feed solution and water directly into the drum cavity.
