FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: this relates to building-on by adding additional storey of attic type to existing buildings. According to method, building-on starts with erection of monolithic reinforced concrete band with guide members on walls of storey which is to carry attic premises. Then roof is dismantled with subsequent freeing of concrete band. Attic storey is erected of preliminarily assembled units which are installed beginning with end face of building on sections of reinforced concrete band which are freed from roof structure with subsequent moving them to design position along guide members.
