FIELD: forest and garden seedling roots undercutting equipment. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has piston, power cylinder connected with cutting unit and restrictor. When cutting unit is in its operating position, piston of auxiliary power cylinder effectuates abrupt pulsed motions in soil body under the action of compressed air to undercut seedling roots. When cutting unit is in its extreme position, piston opens discharge opening communicated with atmosphere to interrupt active motion. Tie-rod is urged for motion to cause displacement of auxiliary power cylinder relative to piston toward discharge window and, as a result, pressure in left cavity is elevated. Active motion is resumed, when compressed air pressure force exceeds draft force of cutting unit transmitted to piston and the cycle is repeated. When cutting unit comes into collision with obstacle, safety valve is actuated and cutting unit bypasses obstacle. When cutting unit moves beyond accepted limits, restrictor disintegrates auxiliary power cylinder from feeding main. EFFECT: increased efficiency and enhanced reliability in operation. 1 dwg
