SUBSTANCE: root-cutter comprises a frame with guides, sliders and cutting working body. One of the guides is made removable. The working body is set in motion by a hydraulic vibrator. For pruning of lateral roots of seedlings the vertically cutting vibrating working bodies made in the form of knives are attached to the sliders. For pruning the primary roots of seedlings, a horizontally cutting vibrating working body, made in the form of L-shaped bracket, is mounted on the rigidly fixed slider mounted in another guide connected to the frame through the bearing unit.

EFFECT: implementation enables to improve the quality of pruning and simplify the design.
