FIELD: metallurgy; may be used in two-high or three-high mill stands in intermediate or in leader-finishing passes, mainly, in rolling of rounds or squares. SUBSTANCE: workpiece moves over roller table and thrusts impingement plate inclined to workpiece axis with vertical wall having opening towards finishing pass. In so doing, force normal to inclined surface of impingement plate of supporting response, proved at an angle to workpiece axis, tilts the workpiece through angle of 90 deg and in this position, rolling is effected in opposite direction in finishing pass.
