FIELD: chemical, textile and food industries. SUBSTANCE: process of vapor phase oxidation of ethyl alcohol into acetic acid with atmospheric oxygen on Sn-Mo oxide catalyst is carried out to increase concentration of acetic acid in condensate in reactor having two working zones (two-reactor system), and process is carried out at optimum temperatures in each zone at 210-300 C in the first zone and 350-390 C in the second zone, C2H5OH:H2O to air molar ratio of 1: (6.5-0.5): (11-13) and volumetric process rate ranging from 3849 to 5070 (I/h). EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 1 tbl
