METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF HUALYRONIC ACID Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: pharmaceutical industry; various branches of medicine, among them, dermatology, gynecology; cosmetics; veterinary science. SUBSTANCE: coke combs washed of impurities and blood are homogenized. Then two-stepped extraction is consequently carried out, the process takes place at 80-90 C with the help of physiologic salt solution, ratio of raw materials and solvent being 1:5. Mixture is filtered, precipitate is separated, extracts are combined together and hualyronic acid is precipitated with the help of 1-2 % aqueous solution of acetic acid. Precipitate is dissolved in distilled water, ratio of precipitate and solvent being 1:2. Then solution is alkalized with the help of sodium hydroxide solution. The process is carried out to pH 7.0-7.3, it is followed by slowly heating to 80-90 C and by filtering. Filtrate is affected by lyophilization.
