FIELD: precious metal recovery. SUBSTANCE: solution contains bromide and perbromide ions, molecular bromine, and at least 2 wt % bromate ion and alkali or alkali-earth metal ion. Equivalent content of molecular bromine ranges from about 10 to some 40 wt %, and molar ratio of bromate ion to sum of molecular bromine and perbromide ion lies in the range of about 0.05-0.8. precious metals, including gold and silver, are leached from their sources. EFFECT: improved leaching efficacy. 2 cl
