FIELD: mechanical engineering; underwater gas shield arc welding. SUBSTANCE: device has nozzle 1 made in form of hollow truncated cone with inspection channel 8 directed with smaller port 9 towards welding zone. Sight glass 15 is installed on larger port of nozzle 1. Light filter and light 22 are installed above sight glass to supply luminous flux through inspection channel to welding zone. Light 22 is installed with possibility of its removal from sight glass zone. Inspection channel 8 communicates with shielding gas supply branch pipe through slot nozzle providing delivery of thin and wide gas flame along lower surface of sight glass. Proposed invention is aimed at improving quality and efficiency of work and convenience in carrying out welding operations owing to possibility of visual observation of welding zone before and in process of welding through nozzle as a result of complete removal of combustion products of electrode and welded metal from welding zone and prevention of their getting into inspection channel, and illumination of channel and welding zone by light before welding. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 10 cl, 8 dwg
