FIELD: precious metals recovery. SUBSTANCE: platinum and palladium are recovered from products close to each other with respect to their precious metal content, such as copper and nickel slimes, pyrrhotine concentrate, etc. Method is based on sorption of platinum and palladium by silica gel with grafted phenylthiourea or alkylthiourea groups and makes possible separating platinum and palladium in hydrochloric acid solutions from rhodium and iridium, the latter being in predominant concentrations. EFFECT: increased selectivity in separation. 1 tbl
