FIELD: pyrotechnics, in particular, pyrotechnic initiating devices, applicable for ignition of pyrotechnic and powder charges, mainly with gaseous combustion products. SUBSTANCE: the electric initiator has a working charge and an electric primer in the form of a fuse head and ignition compound, a shunting resistor is parallel-connected to the fuse head, and a fuse link is series - connected to this connection. When the electric initiator is actuated by a current pulse with an amplitude from 2.0A and duration of 30 ms, a reliable ignition of the working charge occurs with a probability of at least 0.999 and subsequent reliable disconnection of the electric initiator from the current source with a probability of at least 0.9999 irrespective of the resistance of the interelectrode gap after the fuse head is burnt out. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 1 dwg
