FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method involves analysed gasoline sample contact with indicator and further analysis of developed colour, where iron indicator is an indication test in the form of solid carrier of fibrous material with 100-120 g/m2 density, based on acrylonitrile and metacrylate copolymer filled by 50-70% with fine dispersed sorbent ion exchange resin KU-2 in H-form or clinoptylolite of 2-5 mm fraction, and iron indicator immobilised on it non-covalently; application of analysed gasoline sample onto the surface of indication test; exposure for given time period until development of colour spot and; assessment of iron content in gasoline on the basis of comparison of colour spot to model grading scale obtained in advance. Invention also claims indication test for iron content definition in gasoline, and method of obtaining the indication test.

EFFECT: detection rapidity and reliability, enhanced reagent containment strength in carrier.
