FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry, especially to analysis tools of abiological materials of chemical methods, mainly, with the help of chemical indicators and can be applied for express determination of ferrocene in petrol. Ferrocene is added into petrol to increase octane level. Indicator consists of ferrocyanine complex salt (III) in the composition of potassium, sodium, cuprum or zyrconil as well as oxygen carrier which is iodine compound selected from the group: dihydroorthoperiodates sodium or mesoiodate or metaiodate. Effectually, in particular cases indicator has the form of detector paper, indicating plate, detecting powder, and indicator tube, detecting tablet or solution for colorimetry. It becomes possible to determine ferrocene content in petrol easily within the range of concentration from 0.01 to 1 g/dm3 and also to control ferrum content in petrol with sensitiveness 0.005 g/dm3 . Test indicator allows checking petrol in the field conditions.

EFFECT: deriving of substance to find ferrocene in petrol in the field conditions.
