FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method involves analysed gasoline sample contact to iron indicator, where analysed gasoline sample is pumped through glass indicator microcolumn tube with inner diametre of 2-2.2 mm and length of 95-100 mm, filled to 60-70 mm height by indicator on carrier consisting of fine dispersed alumina gel with specific area of 220-250 m2/g and complex forming iron indicator immobilised on it non-covalently, end of coloured zone development is registered, and quantitative iron content in gasoline is assessed by the coloured zone length. Invention also claims indicator on carrier for implementation of iron content definition method, and method of obtaining the indicator.

EFFECT: detection rapidity and reliability, enhanced reagent containment strength in carrier.
