FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: passenger car has support, platform hinge secured by axle on end face walls of car and resting on above indicated support, platform lifting mechanism with resilient member. Platform lifting mechanism has shutoff with two projections installed in bearing supports mounted on end face wall of car, bell crank hinge secured on above-indicated axle for engagement with platform by one of its arms and with one of projections of shutoff by the other arm to fix the bell crank. Platform is made extensible with its parts, namely plate and apron, spring loaded relative to each other. Spring is installed on platform turning axle and is connected with apron through apron slot. Bell crank is spring loaded by above indicated resilient member secured on end face wall of car. Second projection is installed in shutoff for engagement with apron, when these parts are moved towards each other. One of arms of bell crank is provided with wedge member for fixing bell crank by one projection of shutoff. Apron is made in form of hood enclosing the plate.
