SUBSTANCE: present invention describes 2,2-di- ($$$ alkyl) and trans-2,2-di-($$$ alkyl)-3,4-dihydro-6- (pyridin-4-yl)-2H-1-benzopyrans of formula (I): $$$ wherein $$$ and $$$ are hydrogen, alkyl, hydroxyalkyl or alkoxyalkyl, at least one of them is other than hydrogen, and $$$ is usually 2-piperadinone group; $$$ is H and $$$ is OH, or $$$ is additional bond and $$$ and $$$ are alkyl and $$$ is H or alkyl, or N-oxides, esters and salts thereof. Present invention describes methods of preparation thereof and use thereof as pharmaceutical agents, e.g. $$$ canal opening agents, broncho vasolidaling agents and prophylactic antiasthma agents.
